Read the first clue
Every word puzzle starts with a gentle clue. It narrows the field without giving the answer away.
Type a five-letter word
Any real word works. When the fifth letter goes in, the guess checks itself: there is no Enter key.
Read the colours
Green means the right letter in the right spot. Amber means the letter is in the word but somewhere else. Grey means it is not in the word. Repeated letters only light up as often as they appear.
Ask for one more clue
Stuck? Tap the lightbulb. You can reveal up to two extra clues, one at a time, and they never cost a guess.
Earn three stars
One star for solving, one for solving in four guesses or fewer, and one for solving without extra clues.
Sort the groups
In Groups you see sixteen words. Tap four that share a hidden link; they are checked automatically. Find all four groups before you make four mistakes.

Everyone gets the same Daily Word and Daily Groups puzzle for each UTC calendar date. New puzzles arrive at 00:00 UTC. Share your result as a spoiler-free emoji grid with a challenge link, and see how you rank on the day’s leaderboard.
The Journey
Want more? The Journey never ends. Solve a puzzle to move up a level; every fifth level is a Groups puzzle and every tenth finishes a chapter. If you miss one, you get a fresh puzzle for the same level, so you never get stuck.
